Top dressing is the addition of a top dressing layer, usually of quality soil or sand to a pitch or green surface. Top dressing can be used to build up surface irregularities to maintain perfect levels and keep your turf healthy and in use. Overall pitch quality is enhanced through regular top dressing. Clay soils can be used to improve drainage and sandy soils retain moisture better for dryer conditions. Top dressers can also be used to spread fertiliser or lime to promote healthy grass coverage.
Our top dresser is fitted with specialist low pressure tyres to have a minimum impact on your fine turf surface. The machine can apply any top dressing to improve soil quality and repair wear and tear. Top dressing is performed on football and rugby pitches, cricket outfields, bowling greens and golf greens.
